What is the difference between Studio and StudioX?
UiPath Studio and UiPath StudioX are both powerful tools for building automation workflows, but they are designed to serve different types of users.
UiPath Studio is designed for professional developers and advanced users who have experience with programming and are comfortable working with complex workflows. It provides access to the full range of workflow features, including advanced data manipulation, custom scripting, and the ability to create complex workflows with multiple files, multiple branches and decision points.
On the other hand, UiPath StudioX is designed for business users and citizen developers who may not have any programming experience. It provides a simplified user interface that is easy to use and understand, with drag-and-drop functionality and pre-built activities that make it easy to create basic automation workflows without any coding.
In regards to the types of automation workflows they are designed to create – Studio is capable of building any type of automation workflow, from simple to complex, while StudioX is optimized for creating workflows that automate repetitive, rule-based tasks commonly found in business processes, such as data entry, email automation, and document processing.
Do I need to install StudioX separately from Studio?
No. Studio and StudioX are installed together and they represent two different profiles within the same product. You can switch between the two profiles at any time.
How to switch between Studio and StudioX
In order to switch between UiPath Studio and UiPath StudioX, simply go to Settings > License and Profile, and click on Change Profile. After selecting the new profile, you will be asked to restart the application for the changes to take effect.
Can I open Tasks using Studio?
Yes. While Tasks are a type of project that can only be created using StudioX, they can be opened in Studio without any problems. However, once the project is modified in Studio, there is no guarantee thathe project will continue to work as expected with StudioX, given that it has a more limited set of features available.
